(Lea información en español abajo)

Welcome to St. Patrick Parish's Sacramental Preparation Program! Our program helps children and teens prepare to receive the Sacraments while growing in their Catholic faith. Sacramental preparation includes participation in Religious Education, regular Sunday Mass, parent involvement, retreats, and other activities designed to strengthen each family's journey of faith.

Rite of Christian Initiation (OCIC)

RCIC is for children ages 7 and older who have not been baptized and/or for teens in high school that have been baptized but have not received the sacraments of First Eucharist and Confirmation. RCIC is preparation for full reception into the Catholic Church. Children and teens that are not baptized will receive the Sacraments of Christian Initiation - Baptism, First Eucharist, and Confirmation. Teens that have been baptized, will receive the sacraments of First Eucharist and Confirmation.

First Holy Communion

All baptized children preparing to receive First Holy Communion at St. Patrick Parish are expected to actively participate in the sacramental preparation program.

Program requirements include:

Weekly Sunday Mass attendance
Weekly Sunday Religious Education classes
- Students attending Lawrence Catholic Academy (LCA) are not required to attend Sunday Religious Education classes because they receive their religious instruction during the school week.
Two Parent/Guardian Meetings
- Attendance by at least one parent or guardian is required for both meetings, regardless of whether the student attends Sunday Religious Education classes or Lawrence Catholic Academy.

Faith formation begins at home. Parents and guardians play an essential role in preparing their child to receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist.
